RMIT Virtual Open Day
RMIT Open Day is one of their biggest events, where the prospecting university students can talk to tutors, lecturers, and previous students, learn about specific courses, gather information about the surrounding area, accommodation, and general university life. RMIT has more than 100 schools, and the event sets the stage for each school to pitch their programs to students. This year, RMIT is moving this magnificent event onto a virtual platform where people from all over the world can visit in the comfort of their own homes.
This had never been done before, and the project required leadership of someone who already has a successful relationship with key sponsorship and partnership live events at RMIT. Moving to a 100% Digital Event required continuity, understanding of the RMIT brand, and consideration for new challenges and constraints. My relationship with Adam Mortimer, Assistant Director, Brand, Sponsorships & Activations - Global Marketing, set me up well to take on this challenge.
